Frequently asked questions

How do I search an NPN in El Peñol?

Open “Urban cadastre · IGAC” and enter the complete 30-digit Número Predial Nacional under “Search by NPN”. Search queries the integrated El Peñol cadastral layers for that code, independently of the map view. It may return multiple records: inspect every match and each integrated layer’s status. To explore by location, keep zoom 16 or higher and select a land feature.

Are NPN, OBJECTID, CBML and land-title folio the same?

No. CODIGO preserves the published identifier as text; search requires a valid 30-digit NPN. OBJECTID identifies a row within each layer; codigo_municipio selects the municipality. NPN is neither Medellín’s 11-digit CBML nor a land-title folio. These layers display only the three attributes and source geometry; they do not query owners, addresses, titles, land uses or permits.

Does an empty or partial result prove a parcel is absent?

No. NPN search reports code matches from the integrated layers and preserves partial responses and failures separately. A failure is not presented as absence. The map queries the visible area up to 500 features and 2 MiB per layer; zoom in when partial. Example windows and provider-reported municipal identifiers do not establish a complete inventory of all parcels.

What date and license does an export retain?

IGAC, public cadastral database 08-2026, data cut 2026-08-31; retrieval verified on 2026-10-11. The cut is not a per-parcel date and certifies neither precision, ownership nor planning validity. GeoSAT selects the municipality and three attributes and retains original geometry without clipping or simplification. Exported attribution preserves source, date, selection and license. Item and metadata state CC BY-SA 4.0; CEM 836 states CC BY 4.0, an unresolved discrepancy. Retain the source’s CC BY-SA 4.0 terms, including ShareAlike for adaptations where applicable and source/license links. GeoSAT has no official IGAC endorsement.

Is the NPN I query saved or shared?

The query is not saved on reload, and the NPN is excluded from shared links and analytics. Sharing retains the view and layers, not the private search. Result exports may contain CODIGO and retain attribution and license: review the file before sharing it. The geovisor is free and requires no account.

How do I query POT across a cadastral parcel in El Peñol?

Select a land record with a valid NPN and open “Query POT across this parcel” in its record. GeoSAT requests its original geometry again and queries the integrated planning layers across the whole outline, accounting for boundary touches, holes and separate parts. Review each layer’s attributes, dates, sources and notices. It does not calculate affected areas or percentages, or certify permitted uses or permits. Source failures or parcels exceeding query limits are reported without substituting a point. No matches does not establish an absence of regulations.
