What it includes

How to use it

  1. Click “Open this query” to load Cadastral land · geometry records, Land classification, and Urban planning treatments in the viewer. Zoom to street scale: these layers are queried up close.
  2. Select a feature on the map or in the Results list to read its record with attributes, source and date.
  3. Select the planning land-classification and treatment layers to compare the area. The cadastral layer provides geometry only, without field filters or NPN search; review its source and partial-result notices before interpreting or exporting.
  4. Share the view link or export received results with attribution and dates.

Locate the query in Cali

Locate an area by coordinates or general address and place search; a match does not identify or certify a parcel. Explore its layers and published attributes. Official NPN searches and land-use opinions are provided by the municipal portal. The independent ANLA project query shows areas and attributes published by the Autoridad Nacional de Licencias Ambientales (ANLA), retaining its attribution. The prepared example opens record objectid 1747 for file LAM5950; 29 November 2018 is the published act date, not a mapping update. This is not land-use zoning and establishes neither current legal validity of permits, operating status nor a complete municipal inventory. One file may have several areas and acts: records are not unique projects, and their areas must not be summed as affected municipal land. The source declares neither a mapping scale nor a dataset-wide date, and the item declares no specific reuse licence. Queries are limited to 500 records and 2 MiB; results depend on the queried area and may be partial. Consult the official ANLA links and confirm the file and its acts.

Cali uses the 30-digit National Parcel Number (NPN); municipal services also distinguish the parcel identifier and local parcel number. GeoSAT does not convert these identifiers to Medellín’s CBML or provide cadastral NPN search in Cali. The spatial land query shows geometry records without parcel attributes; it does not identify a unique parcel. Use the official land-use service to consult an NPN.

Frequently asked questions

What can I compare in Cali’s spatial cadastral query?

The prepared query opens cadastral land outlines, land classification and planning treatments at zoom 19. Compare the three layers separately within a small area. Outlines are geometry records from the service: they may coincide or overlap. One observed viewport returned 419 records with 16 distinct geometries; these are not 419 unique parcels or property units, and their areas must not be summed as unique surface area.

How do I inspect an outline without searching personal data?

Open the prepared query, keep the map at zoom 19 or 20 and select an outline on the map or in the result list. The cadastral layer requests complete geometries only, reprojected by the service to CRS84: it requests no attributes, NPNs or owners and supports no field filters. Classification and treatment layers have their own fields and sources.

Does this comparison certify boundaries or permitted uses?

No. Viewing outlines alongside POT layers certifies neither ownership, legal boundaries, areas, permitted uses nor permits. This spatial query does not include the NPN parcel search or the whole-parcel POT workflow available in Medellín. Confirm any decision with Cali’s Cadastre and Planning authorities.

What do partial results, no matches or a failure mean?

The visible viewport is queried, with up to 500 records and a 2 MiB response per layer. Zoom in or pan when a partial-response notice appears; the view is not a complete municipal inventory. Coincident records are retained without deduplication. No matches does not establish an absence of land records, and a source failure is not converted to an empty result.

What are the outlines’ source, date and licence?

Alcaldía de Santiago de Cali, Subdirección de Catastro and IDESC; WFS layer catastro:cat_bas_terrenos, verified on 2026-10-14. Dataset-wide data, publication and revision dates and a specific reuse licence are not declared. Do not inherit dates or licences from the communes or POT. Retain attribution and review the official terms linked in this layer’s record.

How do I share or export this comparison?

Share preserves the public view and enabled layers; sources are queried again when the link opens. Under Inspect and export results, export loaded results and retain their partial-response notices. The outline download contains geometries, not an attributed cadastral record; it is neither a certificate nor the complete municipal mapping.
